Introducing our minister

Rev. David Busch began as minister at Merthyr Road UC, New Farm, in mid-November 2023.

Born in 1959, David trained in journalism and worked on newspapers and in church communications in three states before joining ABC Radio in Brisbane in 1993 as a religious specialist broadcaster, later becoming Executive Producer.

He began ministry in the Uniting Church in 2013 with a 9-month interim ministry at Wellington Point. He then had 11 years with South Moreton Presbytery (region), as Multicultural Project Officer (2014-17) and then Presbytery Minister (2018-23).

A father of two and grandfather of three, David lives in Woolloongabba with his wife, Jenny, who is an ordained Uniting Church deacon serving as chaplain at the Qld Children’s Hospital and Mater Hospitals South Brisbane.

David enjoys playing piano and writing music, reading, writing, movies, swimming, nature and family. He loves getting to know people, discussing ideas and life experience, and engaging with the wider community.
