Methyr Road Uniting Church

When someone dies …. what you need to do next

Having someone we love die is one of the most stressful things that happens in life, whether that death has been expected or not; whether the person dies at home or in a hospital, aged care facility or hospice. While there will probably be someone who can tell you what the next steps are if they have died in an institution, having them die at home is a little different, and there is not usually anyone to give you guidance. An unexpected death heightens this anxiety even further.

Not knowing what to do, or how to go about organising the funeral, adds to the newly bereaved person’s levels of anxiety – something they don’t need at such a time.

If you would like to be prepared for any such eventuality you are invited to a free information morning at Merthyr Rd Uniting Church, 52 Merthyr Rd., New Farm on Tuesday, 27th November from 10.00a.m. – 12.00p.m. (includes morning tea)

RSVP for catering purposes to office@mruca.org.au or phone 3358 6945 by Friday 23rd November.
